    1. Did you guys book thru travel agency or directly with Bali? <:
    2. How much does it costs in total? Accomodation, air tic and expenses wise!
    3. Did you guys get a chauffeur or some tour guide of some sort to bring yall around?
    4. What're some of the places and things to do that you'd recommend?

Sorry for all the questions haha! Im planning to go in March and there're lots of things tht I'm not sure about. And I added u on fb! ^^

    Hi Fiona,

We booked it all on our own through the web.
Total expenses was about $2000 ($1000 on flight and accommodation, $1000 on expenses there).
We didn't get any tour guide, basically just roamed around based on information friends gave us. We did have friends living in Bali to bring us around too.
We did hire a taxi chauffeur for a day because we went to a really far off beach. It's not ridiculously expensive though, about S$50 for a half day of driving us around and waiting.

Some places you must go to:
Seminyak has great superb higher end restaurants and bars (Prices are very similar to what you would pay in SG) - Ku De Ta (it's like a much nicer version of our Cafe del Mar), Hu'u Bar & Restaurant (really nice romantic Dempsey-esque restaurant with great food), La Lucciola (beach front hut with great food, make a reservation for dinner at sunset)

Uluwatu has great beaches, we went to this one called Dreamland. It's really quite the travel getting there so this was when we got a driver to take us there and wait for us while we were there and then to dinner after. This was the nicest beach we were at while there.

Jimbaran for seafood on the beach. Go at sunset, that would be best. A seafood basket meal for two is about $60.

I would suggest you either skip Kuta entirely or just do a day trip there. We really didn't like it as it was rowdy and messy with a lot of foreigners and worst, drunk ones everywhere in the night on the Legian Road party stretch. If you wanna party, the top club in Bali is 66 (you say it as double six instead) on double six beach. The double six beach offers a higher end range of bars to chill at, unlike in Kuta. But you should only go on a weekend and really late, like 1am because it only gets crowded then.

We heard nice things about Ubud but we didn't go see it. It's supposed to be the more tranquil and original side of Bali, with its padi fields and villages. Also if you're able to (physically rather fit), go climb Mt Batur. We didn't because we got lazy. You start hiking up in the wee hours of the morning and reach the peak at sunrise. From what we've heard, it's really beautiful!

And rent a motorbike to ride around to nearby places from your hotel. It costs next to nothing, ours was slightly below $10 a day and petrol cost real cheap too. It's really fun though kinda dangerous. But avoid riding in the Kuta area especially at night because there's road blocks and they would fine you for no good reason.

Lastly, try to avoid changing any money there. The moneychangers there are known to cheat.

heya, i loveee your pictures! esp the one with the red flower in the water.. really beautiful1
i have the LX3 as well - wanted to ask, what settings do you use to get the effect you got in the clubbing pictures up there?
are they taken with flash? i've been trying to create that effect myself, but usually the lights in the background don't turn out too great as the flash washes out everything..

    hi babe!

I'm planning a trip to bali too and would like to ask you how was the accomdation and service at the oasis?

please let me know! i'm kinda stuck on planning the accomodation! thanks!

    Hey Dappy,

Oasis Kuta was nothing really amazing. It's just a pretty standard minimalistic place that's nice and quiet despite being in Kuta.
Service was nothing memorable. Room itself was minimal and looks better than in the photos on the site. It's actually all cemented and modernistic.
Pool is really nice and not overcrowded. Breakfast is like really minimal with not much choices.
Location within Kuta itself is not bad. Walkable to a lot of places, including the beach.

If anything that costs more than that is way out of your budget, I'd suggest you stay at Oasis then.
If not really, the best would be to rent private villas for the ultimate Bali retreat!
